Bombay Bicycle Club– “Carry Me”

“Carry Me,” by Bombay Bicycle Club, is the newest addition to my iPod. We got our new playlist at work last week, and I’m a little obsessed with a few tracks on this latest mix. Instead of posting the music video for this one I have to share this video of Bombay Bicycle Club performing “Carry Me” live on Seattle radio station KEXP.

362/365: “Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape”

I was ready to start writing about how much Underoath’s song “Reinventing Your Exit” means to me until I started watching this video of Aaron Gillespie (Underoath/ The Almost) performing a powerful acoustic version of “Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape” for Nervous Energies. I was moved to tears.

I’m very attached to They’re Only Chasing Safety, which includes both this song and “Reinventing Your Exit.” It’s one of my favorite albums. We’ve been through a lot together.

I am so happy this was recommended in my YouTube sidebar, because wow. I think my original song choice can wait a little longer.

Aloe Blacc’s music video for “Love is the Answer” is a powerful video with a strong message. Blacc’s propensity for socially conscious lyrics is something that makes him stand out from the noise I’m used to hearing at work or on the radio. His smooth, soulful voice is soothing yet engaging, and I like his relaxed and old school sound. I’m consistently impressed by his work. And, from the videos I’ve seen on YouTube, he’s just as good– if not better– live. I was just going to go with the music video, but this live version is too good for me to not share it with you, too.
